And in the Hindu religion, Yama, the god of death, is responsible for this cycle. He is the deity of death, also known as Dharamraja (lord of justice), having the quality of judging souls on the basis of their deeds on the earth. Yama means "twin" (Yama has a twin sister, Yami), and the word also means "moral rule or duty' (i.e., dharma), "self-control," "forbearance," and "cessation". He is well-known for his justice.
